The National Council of the Slovak Republic has approved a new Commercial Register Act intended to reduce the administrative burden on entrepreneurs. If signed by the president, the Act will come into effect on 17 August 2026.

Foreigners with temporary protection have until Thursday 30 April 2026 to express their interest in obtaining a special long-term residence permit.

As of 1 April 2023 there is an important change for employers in the registration of new and existing employees with temporary protection and in uninsured activities in the CSSA (Czech Social Security Administration, ČSSZ) register.
